Shopify Financial Services:
Making Commerce Better for Merchants

During my short contract at Shopify, I was embedded in their Money UX team, working very closely on launching new initiatives around merchant protection, new commerce technologies, and merchant lending. This was a crucial time for the company and the money team; as more individuals became merchants on Shopify post-pandemic, the more important it was to provide products to help them succeed.

As a Senior Content Designer on the Money Marketing UX team, I worked closely with design counterparts to craft web, social, email, and in-product experiences for merchants across the following product initiatives.   1. Shopify Protect. Launched a brand new fraud prevention/chargeback protection product for merchants on the Shopify platform. Concepted visual and messaging approach across mediums in collaboration with designer Daina Lightfoot. We developed an email journey, a landing page, an in-platform educational page for existing merchants, and marketing materials for social.

  2. Tokengated Commerce. Updated copy and UX flow for a platform that lets merchants use NFTs to amplify their brand and engage. Concepted messaging and UX for a new landing page in collaboration with designer Daina Lightfoot.

  3. Shopify Capital. Updated the design, messaging, and UX to market Shopify’s merchant lending product, with a spin for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This full campaign reached across web, social, and email. Work done in collaboration with designer Hilary Sedgwick.
